On February 29th, TouchStone Digital and design2influence (d2i) earned nine honors at the 2024 ADDY Awards, presented by the American Advertising Federation of Toledo.

The haul included a Judge’s Choice Award, a Gold ADDY, three Silver ADDY Awards and four Bronze ADDYs.

To top off the evening, Michael Seay, our Executive Vice President of Brand Strategy, received the Silver Medal Award, the highest honor presented by AAF. (Watch the video.) Michael is the fourth member of the MadAveGroup team to earn the coveted award.

“Companies looking for an advertising or marketing partner should consider an agency’s awards,” said MadAveGroup Chief Creative Officer Scott Greggory. “An awards show is a microcosm of the marketplace. Judges evaluate hundreds of entries and acknowledge those that catch their eyes, those that excite and motivate them. So, work that wins at award shows is very likely performing well in the wild and generating results for the client.”

Michael Seay Wins AAF's 2024 Silver Medal Award

On February 29, 2024, Michael Seay became the fourth member of the MadAveGroup team to receive the American Advertising Federation of Toledo’s highest honor - the Silver Medal Award

Michael has been deeply involved with AAF at all levels. He was president of the Toledo chapter, served on the board for seven years, launched the local organization’s Mosaic Committee on Multi-Cultural Diversity and Inclusion, and earned AAF Toledo’s President’s Award four times.

He also served several terms on the AAF District 5 Executive Board, plus two terms as the District 5 Governor and on AAF’s national board.

“Michael’s pretty tapped into what we do at a national level on diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Steve Pacheco, President and CEO of American Advertising Federation. “[He] always wants to be a connector of people and backgrounds and perspectives.”

In 2012, Michael joined MadAveGroup as the Director of two of our agencies, SensoryMax and design2influence. Today, his main role is as Executive Vice President of Brand Strategy for MadAveGroup.

“Michael is good at defining problems,” said MadAveGroup CEO Jerry Brown. “His solutions are effective and he’s a master communicator. Michael is a key member of the leadership team that’s going to drive MadAveGroup into the future.”

Always generous with his time and talents, Michael has volunteered with organizations as diverse as Junior Achievement, Toledo Area Humane Society and International Boxing Club of Toledo. He also served as the local chairman and a state board member for Prevent Blindness Ohio.

The Silver Medal Award has been presented once annually since 1959 to recognize those who've made outstanding contributions to advertising, while demonstrating a commitment to the industry's highest standards, creative excellence and social concerns.

Other MadAveGroup team members to win the Silver Medal Award include Terry Lesniewicz (2005), Jerry Brown (2012) and Scott Greggory (2021).

BusinessVoice Humor Wins 2023 MarCom Awards

Once again, Humor On Hold from BusinessVoice took one of the top honors at the MarCom Awards.

Our production called “Facial Recognition” earned a 2023 Platinum MarCom Award in the Audio/Radio category. We created it for D&F Plumbing, Heating and Cooling in Portland, Oregon.

We also won a pair of Honorable Mention awards for our work on behalf of Downey PHCE in Bowling Green, Ohio and Lakeland Auto and Marine in Port Clinton, Ohio.

The MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, public relations firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.

"As usual, I thought it would be great to poke a little fun at ourselves, this time within the context of a father/son relationship," said Scott Greggory. He wrote the script and appears on camera. Jacob Stutz served as videographer and editor. 

"My philosophy is to entertain first and inform second. It's an 'audience-first approach' that I recommend often to encourage building relationships with prospective buyers."

The humorous piece was released on the BusinessVoice social channels a few days before Father's Day 2022. It won a 2023 Silver Telly Award in the category of "Social Video - Craft - Use of Humor."

Once again, Humor On Hold from BusinessVoice made a big impression on the Communicator Awards judges. Work from our Caller Experience Marketing agency earned three trophies at the 2023 competition.

SensoryMax Brochure

The brochure we designed for SensoryMax, our Sensory Marketing agency, won a Silver Award at The 2023 Print Excellence Awards. The event is presented by Graphic Media Alliance, a trade organization that serves printers in Ohio, Michigan and Northern Kentucky.

Design Director Greg Stawicki created the look of the winning piece. Creative Consultant Cassandra Evans wrote the copy.

The printer, H.O.T. Graphic Services, entered the brochure into the competition.

Stawicki worked with H.O.T. Account Executive Greg Reece to determine how the brochure would be printed. "We used a four-color process and overall UV gloss on the first pass," wrote Reece. "On the second pass, we used a spot DULL varnish on all eight pages."

Graphic Media Alliance presents The Print Excellence Awards each year to provide members with an opportunity to showcase their craft and technical skills.

MadAveGroup Named "Best Ad Agency"


For the second consecutive year, Toledo City Paper readers have voted MadAveGroup as the area’s “Best Advertising Agency.”

According to the paper’s website, readers cast more than 500,000 votes to acknowledge their favorite local businesses in 200+ categories.

“This is a nice honor,” said MadAveGroup CEO Jerry Brown. “Marketing and ad agencies don’t typically enjoy a high profile in most communities, so it’s quite a compliment that we have such a good reputation around town.”

MadAveGroup has now won the “Best” award in Toledo City Paper’s 2021 and 2022 readers’ polls. The paper announced this year’s winners in its March 2023 issue.

Toledo City Paper first went to press in 1997.
